You Are Not Too Broken: The Power of Awareness in Healing Trauma

Have you ever found yourself sitting alone in the dark, wondering if healing is even possible for you? Feeling like you’re too broken, too damaged, or that it’s simply too late to find peace? If that’s you, consider this your gentle whisper of hope.

I get it. I’m a trauma survivor too, and I’ve sat with those same doubts, that heavy feeling that maybe I’m beyond repair. But here’s the hard truth trauma wants to hide from you: You are not too broken. That lie has been planted by your past, not by your true self.

The Myth of Being “Too Broken”

That belief — that you’re irreparably shattered — didn’t start with you. It’s a myth shaped by childhood wounds, unmet needs, and societal expectations that tell us we have to be “perfect” or “fixed” to be worthy.

In reality, the first step to healing is already happening inside you, whether you realize it or not. This isn’t about magically being “fixed” overnight or forcing yourself to “get over it.” It’s about awareness — the spark that ignites transformation.

Awareness: The Real Beginning of Healing

Healing starts when you become aware of your struggles. Noticing your triggers, your pain, and your limits isn’t weakness. It’s strength. It’s the courage to face what’s been buried and to say, “I want something different for myself.”

That awareness cracks the door open, even if you don’t yet know what to do next. It’s the quiet power that leads to change, step by step.

Here’s what you can do to nurture that spark:

  • Pause and recognize your feelings without judgment.

  • Journal your thoughts and emotions to better understand them.

  • Seek out gentle practices that help you stay grounded—like breathwork, mindful movement, or calming rituals.

You Are Not Alone

If you’ve been carrying the weight of your past in silence, know this: you are not alone. There is support, community, and tools designed just for mamas like you—those in the “rise” phase of healing.

Two resources I want you to know about:

  • The Unlocking Peace Guide — a free tool to help you create calm and manage triggers in your day-to-day life.

    Grab the guide here

  • The 5 Keys to Break the Cycle resource — practical strategies for mamas ready to take the next step beyond surviving.

Your Awareness Is Everything

Remember, you are not too broken. You are aware. And that awareness? That’s everything. It’s the beginning of your healing journey and the foundation of your strength.

Are you ready to see yourself through new eyes? To take that first gentle step toward peace? Listen to this message as your call to action—and let’s remind each other that the strength we need has always been inside us.
